Cold brew green tea
The easiest tea to prepare!
Brewing green tea we often spoil its taste by pouring too hot water or brewing it for too long. When brewing green tea, remember to pour water at 80ºC and brew it only for 50 seconds (in the case of our organic sencha tea).
With cold brewed green tea we don’t face these problems.
How to make cold brew green tea?
Put 1-2 teaspoons of tea leaves in cold water and put it in the fridge for the whole night. In the morning, pour the tea through a strainer into the carafe. Done!
The tea can be brewed two times in this way. For the second brew, pour cold water into the jug again and put in it the fridge for the second cold brew.
We get green tea that is very mild and pleasant, just the way green tea should be. It tastes great and can't be spoiled. Ideal to surprise your guests in the summer. Its slightly bitter taste, combined with ice cubes, refreshes you and adds energy for the rest of the day.
Cold brewed green tea goes perfectly with gouda cheese, tomatoes, basil, pineapple and apples.
The first brew can be also shorter, for about 4 hours. The tea will then have a milder taste.
GREEN TEA WITH HERBS AND HONEY
Cold-brewed green tea is great in the summer. Served with ice cubes it is delicious: mild, sweet and at the same time refreshing.
Cold green tea goes well with fresh herbs such as sage, mint, basil, rosemary and lemongrass. Add to your tea some fresh fragrant herb leaves, a drop of honey and have fun!
